Omar Abdullah was on his way to give his talk in University of Berkeley in US. But to his surprise he was booed by Kashmiri-Americans and other protesters. One of the protesters says, “You’re a war-criminal, we will take you to the International Criminal Court for war-crimes.”

The University of California, Berkeley is organising an event on Kashmir in which former Cheif Minister is due to give a talk on ‘The Path Forward in Kashmir’. The event is scheduled for 19th of April, 2018.
Kashmiris, in protest, took to twitter and described this as ‘whitewashing of his crimes’. They claimed that Mr. Omar Abdullah “still has blood of innocent Kashmiris on his hands.”
It is a matter of utter shame that @UCBerkeley is engaged in whitewashing the crimes of Indian state in Kashmir. In Abdullah's rein, hundreds of children, men and women were subject to horrendous abuses, particularly during the mass protests of 2010. #boycottomar pic.twitter.com/fCKgi5mmE6

The event page describes Omar as the following:
“Charismatic, articulate, and an ardent fan of technology, Omar Abdullah is an Indian politician and the scion of one of the most prominent political families of Jammu and Kashmir, the Abdullah family. He served as the youngest Chief Minister of the State of Jammu and Kashmir from 2009-2014. He is currently the Leader of opposition in J&K legislative assembly.
As a former Chief Minister and one of the most prominent politicians of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah will talk about his vision for the path forward in the region and share his perspective on possible solutions.”
An online petition was also started in protest.
The petition has recieved more than 120 signatures as of now. The boycott organisers have shot emails to the University as well so as to call off the event.
The petition is on Change.Org https://www.change.org/p/university-of-california-berkeley-stop-omar-abdullah-from-speaking-at-uc-berkeley
