Imagine having 70 slices of full cheese pizza, or 190 bananas, or 40 donuts at once, or 130 cans of pepsi; such a caloric bomb, isn’t it?
Well, this is what 4 of us gulp down in an hour long wazwan feast amounting to a whopping 20000 calories per tramie. And the calculations only take into account the calorific values of meat and chicken on the platter. One can only imagine the disaster when we add rice, pulao, dahi and soft drinks to the table.
However, in the research paper that mentioned these stats, the authors further add that occasional wazwan, if taken appropriately is actually good for health especially for lactating mothers and children as it has high quantities of protein and Vitamin B12.
This research paper was presented by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad (M.D. Department of Medicine M.D.), Sakina Akhter, M.Sc. and Dr. Shariq R. Masoodi D.M.( Department of Endocrinology, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, Srinagar) and was published in the Journal of Medical Sciences.
